.... our 30-day running total PPN = 60.0 mm; could do with it being lower
to be honest and the low evaporation rates at this time of year are
evident (despite the recent run of brisk NE/low dew-point air) as the
top soil is still damp/sticky to touch.

Hugh

.... as of 01/0900Z MAR, 30-day total here now 48.3mm.

This has been the driest month (39.4mm) /just/ since May last year (39.2mm)

Total for winter (DJF) = 333mm (132% eLTA 1981-2010), our wettest such
here, but only records since 2007/08.

In the adjacent Hurn record, the (provisional) winter total = 330 mm
(133% of the all-series mean 1957-2012): wettest winter in their record
since 2000/2001, and in that 1957+ series, there have been 9 wetter
winters - including of course a notable sequence of such in the
second-half of the 1970s.
