Both ecm and gfs have consistently pointed to easterlies or northeasterlies in the medium range basically being driven by a strong Greenland High. ALso, do we have another Strat warm event in the making?

Keith (Southend) http://www.southendweather.net "Weather Home& Abroad" There is a modest positive correlation between February temperature anomalies and Spring temperature anomalies. Given that February was on the cold side I would say that this Spring has an enhanced probability of being colder than average. |

Not convinced of a stratwarm and it doesn't really matter now with those synoptics. Blocking is often strong at this time of year and the charts currently show an optimum location for a very cold NE'ly. Possibly the coldest spell of the winter for many? Early days yet though.
