Quite an unusual spell with no measurable rain in my 5 inch gauge.
Does not beat the dry spell of Aug 1995 though. 31 July - 22 Aug 1995, 23 days. 8 -28 June 1992, 21 days 15 feb - 5 March 2013, 19 days 20 June - 8 July 1993, 19 days 10 -28 Feb 1985, 19 days 21 Jan- - 7 Feb 2006, 18 days 8 - 25 June 1988, 18 days Rain forecast for tomorrow so that is the end of the dryness for now. Models show the regime is still basically easterly for the forseeable future so the 'dry' period is likely to continue. I'm not complaining. Max 14C today although I appreciate this is a false dawn for Spring. Len Wembury, SW Devon |
