From the current BBC news page:

Snow moves north amid ice warning

Snow that has caused travel disruption in parts of England is moving
north, while forecasters warn of icy conditions in most parts of the UK.

Ugh? I thought it went SE into Europe.......

Yes, that's poor. Presumably they think that if there is snow in the
south on one day and then snow in the north on the following day then
the snow must have moved north.
