Had frog spawn in the pond for about a month now, and I checked this morning and the some of the tadpoles have hatched and are swimming about. There was a thin layer of ice on the pond this morning after a minimum of -2.1°C. Soon melted in the sunshine and the cold doesn't seem to have bothered the tadpoles. -- Nick G Otter Valley, Devon 20 m amsl http://www.ottervalley.co.uk |
