Despite the mini heatwave today, +5.5C, snow is still evident in the
neighbourhood. A 6 feet high pile in the lower park where a giant snowman was built last week. And over 2 feet of the crud around my water butts and hibernating plant pots alongside next door's damned conservatory. At this rate, it'll still be there when next winter's snows start. And I have a question that needs some clarification. Twice in the last couple of days, I have heard mention on the radio/TV that this was the coldest March since 1962. Is that correct, or should it be 1963? jim, Northampton |

Lots of snow drifts even on the lower ground around south Yorkshire. Simon S (South Yorkshire) |

I see you haven't been reading all the other threads. ![]() end of February, March wasn't at all bad. -- John Hall "Madam, you have between your legs an instrument capable of giving pleasure to thousands and all you can do is scratch it." I tend to ignore threads of more than about 10 replies, only because they generally go off on an acute tangent to elsewhere, and end up as personal bitching matches between the usual suspects. And thanks for the clarification. jim, Northampton |
