Non-stop snow falling since this morning, often heavy bursts. Now
settling with 1cm on car. Everywhere white. Temperature 0.8C. Quite
impressive for mid-afternoon in April in lowland Essex! In fact this is
now probably the longest continuous spell of snow here this
Winter/Spring, although of course will mely as soon as it stops.

Finally fizzled out at 18.00 after approx 8 hours of uninterrupted
snowfall. Left a covering here but up the road at 100m ASL there are
several cm lying on all surfaces including the side roads. Temp rising
now and up to 1.3C having hovered at 0.7C for a large part of the
afternoon in the heavier snow. Quite a remarkable day for April.
