I really hate this stuff. It spoils a significant number of potentially sunny and warm mornings on this coast with a wind off the sea. With luck it will burn off by mid-morning. I'm heading inland to the gym and hopefully, sunshine!

Yes we get into a real "fret" over this in the North East ;-)

Do you call it haar down there?
I thought that was east coast terminology.

Remember; I'm not native to these shores! It's a haar to me, or a sea fret. However you term it, it's a bloody dreadful spoiler. Off to find some sun!

I think it's Haar on the east coast, fret in NE England.

Here there's well broken cloud (mainly bands of Ac with some patchy cirrus)with already warm feeling sunshine. Although the MetO says it's misty in Penzance, and will stay so this morning, absolutely no sugn of sea mist on any local webcams, e.g. near Land's End http://www.sennen-cove.com/harbourcam..htm or Land's End itself http://www.landsendweather.info/

Could well be yet another lovely day - yesterday http://www.sennen-cove.com/index.htm was a glorious afternoon

Whatever you call it, it's still plaguing the coast. 3 miles inland = brilliant sunshine.

PS Aren't some vultures just pathetic? *))

Now unbroken sunshine here after a 'sea-misty' start.

Still looks a bit murky towards the coast (only 2 kms away).
