Here is a summary of the latest NWP output for noon (GMT) on Friday. Issued
0358z, 13/05/13. The weekend will see northerlies setting in as the result of a low to the east. All areas are at risk of rain as a result, but eastern areas are most likely to see rain. ECMWF: http://www.wetterzentrale.de/pics/Recm1201.gif The UK lies under a col. Northerlies set in on days 6 and 7 as low pressure deepens to the east. The winds become NNE'lies on days 8 and 9 as the low fills to the SE. Day 10 sees further NE'lies as pressure builds to the NW. MetO: http://www.wetterzentrale.de/pics/Rukm1201.gif MetO shows northerlies with a low over Germany and a ridge to the west. Day 6 sees NNW'lies and northerlies as the low remains in situ. GFS: http://www.wetterzentrale.de/pics/Rtavn1201.png A shallow low covers England and Wales, leading to easterlies for most. There are northerlies on day 6 as the low moves away to the east, followed by further northerlies on days 7, 8 and 9. By day 10 there are NNE'lies as pressure builds to the north. GEM: http://www.wetterzentrale.de/pics/Rgem1201.gif The Canadian model shows northerlies with a low to the east. JMA: http://www.wetterzentrale.de/pics/Rjma1201.gif As with ECM, JMA shows a col over the UK. |
