Hi
I reckon that's 6 sunny days on the trot for our part of Devon with max temps of: F 22.8 S 26.1 S 28.9 M 28.5 T 27.9 W 27.4 so far Quite a cool night last night with a min of 11.0°C so a massive diurnal range of 16.4°C today. I've just listened to Darren Bett on the 1.30 PM weather and noticed that he dropped any reference to "Hot" that BBC presenters were bandying about so freely last weekend. It's amazing how highs of 28 or 29°C can be classified as hot when it affects the SE but when they occur else where is never mentioned. Perhaps that's due to the pesky low cloud that sneaked in today and spoilt the party. Bruce. |

Bruce. the only day here (in Wanstead) I would classify as even approaching 'hot' is Sunday when it reached 29.1C. The other days have NOT been hot |

Minimum of 10.1C last night and a maximum of 28.7C today making a diurnal range of 18.6C. Six sunny days here also and this brings the monthly sunshine total to 110 hours. Not bad for the first 10 days. No sea breeze since the 7th and barely any wind with frequent long periods of calm conditions has made for one of the hottest feeling spells since July 2006. After yesterday's brief drier air, the humidity has returned today. Maximum temperatures & (DPs at the time of maximum temp). 5th 23.9C (15.1C) 6th 23.6C (15.7C) 7th 28.5C (18.2C) 8th 29.1C (17.9C) 9th 29.6C (9.0C) 10th 28.7C (17.2C) Without any wind and fairly high DPs, no wonder it has felt very warm at times. -- Nick G Otter Valley, Devon 20 m amsl http://www.ottervalley.co.uk The best spell of summer weather for me for a long time - and more of it to come! Perfick. |
