Cloudy, cool and dull here at Southend-on-Sea this morning. Temp 17.7°C, wind NNE, humidity 85% Keith (Southend) http://www.southendweather.net Down in Penzance at around 13:00 there was a F4-5 ESE wind, gusting 40 mph on the sea front, and to near 50mph up at Culdrose. Despite these along/onshore conditions the temperature was 24.1C, much the same as most recent days at that time. Perfect wind surfing weather, the SST where the wind's onshore around 20C, like windsurfing in the sub tropics. Today is very different to the frequent near calm conditions which have dominated this hot spell http://www.cornwallcam.co.uk/ There was quite a bit of Cirrus streaming north from the storms over northern France yesterday evening, deep blue sky so far today. Well 200 hours of sun this month already. Graham Penzance |

They still are despite the fact we've just had a thundery shower which dropped 3.1mm, and the wind is very gusty. Though looks like it's all clearing away now. Last nights min 17.2C, in this morings shower. Graham Penzance |
