Thanks Colin. I was watching the Nottingham storm on the radar on a
friend's computer at tea time. The number of lightning strikes was phenomenal. We tried to work out the rain rate, and in amongst all the bright colours settled for about 70mm/hr. Tuned into Radio Nottingham to hear what was going to happen to the cricket (not a lot before at least 8pm - Notts lost). All the emergency services were appealing to people not to ring them unless lives were in danger. Things appeared to be rather dire up there. jim, Northampton |
