Some of the trees around where I live are now losing their leaves, which are piling up on the driveway just like they do during the autumn. This is probably due to the very dry ground. Is anyone else experiencing a similar situation?

Yes, flowering cherry has been shedding for past three weeks. And an oak tree I have in a big pot is also beginning to shed leaves - I'm not sure if this is because the pot was quite exposed to the sun and the roots are reacting to a too-warm surrounding soil. I've since moved it into some shade and it seems a bit happier

The opposite ends of the scale. The local council pollarded some trees
too harshly on a main road going into the city centre. It’s only the
heatwave that has caused them to greatly sprout new leaves.
