We've missed the heavy rains and the dry hinterland of south-east Devon continues. A total of 6.1 mm has fallen over the last five days: 1st = 0.0 mm 2nd = 0.4 mm 3rd = 1.1 mm 4th = 0.8 mm 5th = 3.8 mm Not enough to even counter loss through evaporation and with the sunny and dry July, the soil moisture deficit must now be huge here in the lower Otter Valley. -- Nick G Otter Valley, Devon 20 m amsl http://www.ottervalley.co.uk |
