Default UKSW or Net Weather?

Hi

There has been quite a bit of talk about the future of UKSW and the state it's currently in.

As you know for the last 18 months or so I've been promoting a blog (http://xmetman.wordpress.com) that I've built, as well as publicise my Central England Temperature web site (http://www.centralenglandtemperature.co.uk/). Its not easy on both scores to interest people in weather and climate when there are so many sites across the internet trying to do the same thing, but I have been heartened over the last couple of weeks since starting to post to the Net Weather forum that finally (after a lot of hard work) my blog is starting to pick up some interest.

I don't think that anyone of us can fix what's wrong with UKSW, it's a reflection of all the people who still bother to post to it, many out of habit.

What I'm currently doing is cross posting topics to both UKSW and the appropriate forum at Net Weather and seeing what kind of response (if any) I get..

Its the acid test for me, and I think if you try it I think you'll find it refreshing and a lot more pleasant.

Bruce.

you should consider (also?) UKweatherworld.co.uk

Good bunch of people on UKWW. Very little if any pettiness and some serious
scientific contributors.
This is not to say there aren't some on other forums but UKWW, in my
opinion, seems the best in this regard.

Thanks Joe, I've just registered to join. I'm pretty much fed up with
the lack of restraint on here so will go and learn from that forum. Sad
because this place is the first thing I check in the morning, after
emails. Thanks again for the link.

I've just discovered I'd already signed up at some point in the past!

Only one problem with the Netweather forum - it's a forum! NNTP is far
more convenient and quicker to use.

Graham

You have a point but its great to be able to embed images with your post rather than point people at a URL.

Maybe everyone who doesn't like UKSW leaves and then it will be back as
it was!
