Default Dry East Yorkshire

No rain recorded on Friday - again.

The weather is completely different to other parts of Yorkshire and time to be sectioned off and given our own forecast.

For the umpteenth time a weather warning was issued here and there was none. This really is a frequent occurrence.

Conversely we are ignored in winter when other parts have the warnings. I'll try to log these in future and you'll see what I mean.

The safest option is to look for weather warnings in summer and head for the beach. In winter when there is no warning, pack the snow shovel and a thermos in the car.

Isn't that what local forecasts are intended for?

The TV forecast typically issues a local (well regional) forecast prior
to the national weather forecast.

On the Met Office site you can select a five day forecast for a
particular town.

Regarding the weather warnings, I presume they haven't got sufficient
forecast skill to issue warnings below regional level so I can see that
if you live in an area subject to a microclimate then the warnings may
not correlate that well with the conditions experienced.

Not just for a town, but for multiple locations within a town (even non existent locations like Pz heliport). I knew someone who believed these computer generated forecasts, but then again he believed the Earth was flat!

Exactly, the "local" forecast predicted the same as well. What's needed is a local local forecast to take account of the micro climate.
