Hi
According to the Met Office (and just about everybody) else Autumn started on the 1st of September. OK that's fine. But why since then, do we get a steady stream of weather presenters coming out with that old cliche "feels more like Autumn..."? I've got news for them - according to you that's because IT IS AUTUMN. Personally, I still believe, that in their minds, they like me, are still clinging to that old worn out concept that it's still Summer till the equinox and all those equinoctial gales have started. Of course the converse of this will happen early next March, when the "feeling more like Winter than spring..." cliche will make its annual return. Bruce. |

Bruce. -------------------- "Autumnal" or "feels more like Autumn" are phrases forecasters just can't wait to use. Less to do with the season - more like a general signal for the ominous return to 'normal'. Rain, wind, central heating and football. |
