Tideswell, Derbyshire - Monday 7th October 2013
-----------------------------------------------------

0530z SSW F2 10km 7St004 13.8/13.8 1023
RMK: A very "soft" morning. The Radio 4 forecaster just before 7 a.m.
said that "it's a chilly morning over England and Wales". What planet is
she on. In this part of the country it's exceptionally mild for an October
morning and that looks to be the case over most of England and Wales.

Yes, I heard that too and couldn't believe what I was hearing.
Minimum here was 13.8, although it was above 14 for most of the
night. Looking at a map of temperature at 0500z, England south-east
of a line Exeter to the Humber appeared to be the coldest area - even
here the temperatures were between 8 and 11.
