It's in liquidation - margins have been squeezed too tight, at a guess.
Trade rumours are that the rights to the name etc have been bought out by
another business and that the name might reappear at some point, albeit
probably fronting a completely different business.

Oh dear - that's where I was hoping to get a new weather station from.

Thanks for letting me know.

Welcome to the 21st Century where an electric name is worth more than the hard copy.

What on earth is an 'electric name'?

I think the Honourable Gentleman was probably referring to the URL (or
online identity more broadly) in his circumlocution. I know what he means
though - for a business like that, the online name is much more important
than any bricks and mortar aspect, at least as far as trading potential is
concerned.

I think the name and rights to the URL have been bought by a completely
different company. Rumour has it that they're just testing the website at
present - not sure there's any stock behind it as yet.

It's not huge illuminating in this instance, probably because the
information is out of date (despite a recent edit). The company who are
apparently going to be operating the business in the future don't appear on
the current Nominet record. But in any event it's not a big deal - the
details will all be made clear in due course no doubt as and when the new
owners get properly up and running with WF (or decide to merge it with their
existing business/website).
