Ny Alesund figures seem to be OK - it has warmed up a lot today (Thursday) though http://tinyurl.com/nm6xw8p

It's also quite a distance from the rest of the stations so it is not
too surprising that its weather can be very different. Also, being so
close to the Arctic ice means a change in wind direction can mean a
drastic change in temperature.

No mistake. This map does a good job of showing why it can be far colder
than the other European stations:

Though the Svalbard Archipelago is part of Norway, calling it part of
Europe is arguably a bit of a stretch.
