Okay I'm typical of many of my generation I loved Hi Fi as a hobby recently going to the Brighton Hi Fi show. This morning my friend sent me -purely from a hi fi point of view-a tweet from the BBC's science pin up icon Brian 'Pretty Boy' Cox. Now those that have any audio knowledge know that valves are the main audio source for true hi fi aficionados as they sound much more natural and pleasing on the ear than transistor but the down side is they are far more inefficient with using much of the co2 released earned electrical energy a heat and boy they do run very hot -too hot to touch so for the great sound you get much of the watts used are purely wasted as heat and in the summer this is even more wasteful.

So not a major issue but when coming from the wunderkind Brian Cox who as a physicist knows this its smacks of typical hypocrisy of those who tell us we are all doomed to CAGW and need to reduce 'OUR' carbon footprint in no doubt to let Brian Cox listen to his valve amp during Earth Hour!!!

Now me unlike those like Brian and Dawlish I don't shout the odds on the imminent dangers of CAGW and then do nothing in my own life to change things in fact with the hi fi angle I couldn't bear the energy wastage of my valve amps and swapped them in for solid state. Hey I'm a AGW sceptic but I'm doing me part more than the AGW apostles.

I don't deny warming and I never have but unlike you of the 'do as I say and not as I do' crowd I'm not a hypocrite. At this time energy which under capitalism has lifted the human existence to an unrecognisable level when compared with 300 years ago is a finite recourse and we have to treat it so
I reflect that in the way that I live unlike some.
