Default High pressure and high spring at T+240?

After a period of the models lacking agreement and consistency, the operationals of gfs ECM and GEM agree, this morning. High pressure and settled, warm weather at T+240 would take us to almost mid-month and would make a warmer than average spring highly likely. See if consistency develops during today.

And the 00z ECM sits a fat high right over the UK at 10 days. See if that is still there this evening.

And the 06z gfs is really not as keen. There's a lack of consistency that is preventing me from being confident enough ATM of the outcome to forecast..

Again, if anyone else would like to have a go at forecasting at 10 days, based on the current output, I wish you good luck. Best guess: anticyclonic conditions, but I wouldn't be 80% confident of that.

Warm & sunny conditions the week *before* the Easter weekend?
It's a dead cert, wet weather pushing in by Good Friday.....

The GFS chart for Good Friday is an absolute horror show!

Why on earth couldn't we have had something like that in winter?
Luckily there is still loads of time for that to disappear.
