Brussels on Tuesday 10th June 2014
Thunderstorm in the middle of Monday night: constant flickering lightning and rumbling thunder when I was woken by it around 03.30 local time. Sunny morning, but convective cloud developed steadily around midday. Overcast in the early afternoon with a fairly heavy shower from 14.25 to 14.55. Rather cloudy for the rest of the afternoon with just brief bright intervals. Another short, sharp shower at 15.45 and a couple of brief light showers in the early evening. Cloud then decreased gradually with some evening sunshine. Still quite warm and humid. Light and variable wind, mostly from between south and west. Brussels Uccle 24.4°C - overnight minimum 16.3°C - and 14 mm rain Brussels Airport 24.8°C - overnight minimum 16.0°C - and 12 mm Brussels Airport http://weather.noaa.gov/weather/current/EBBR.html Brussels Uccle Graphs http://deus.irceline.be/~celinair/me...=nl&sta=T1R012 Rainfall radar http://www.buienradar.be/afgelopen-24-uur OGIMET monthly summary for Brussels Uccle http://tinyurl.com/mw3sg3a Webcam Grand-Place http://www.brussels.be/artdet.cfm?id=4664&FMT=18 Webcam Uccle http://www.meteo.be/meteo/view/en/15...cam+Uccle.html Colin Youngs Brussels |

I watched that one for a while on the radar site. Worked it's way up from central France over the course of about 3 hours. God help us in this country if we ever see the likes of it. At one time it was active for over a 400 mile length, as far as from London to Edinburgh plus a chunk more. There was a similar sized storm across Germany at the same time. jim, Northampton |
