A friend of mine who lives in the Pyrenees has posted some photos on Facebook, which on examination appear to show some possible ball lightning. It wasn't noticed until looking at the photos.
There are a few issues concerning the ambient lighting, but can anyone comment? The photos have been shared on my Facebook page, as unsure how else I can show them currently. Thanks if you're able to comment. David Mitchell. L. ER of Y. |

Thanks if you're able to comment. David Mitchell. L. ER of Y. Photographs of ball lightning are very rare and usually ambiguous. Even reliable witnesses struggle to describe what they have seen. Flash photos from a P&S camera or mobile phone with dust in the air may give the same sort of illusion as ball lightning. -- Regards, Martin Brown |
