Good evening all,
This week the documentairy film "Dutch light" will have its first run. Researchers try to explain the existence of the famous freaks of light, exposed by the 17th century Dutch landscapists. And of course weather-elements, particularly their influence on light, play an important part in this movie. Question is whether Dutch light is a myth or not -- and when not, what's the cause of these lovely bright contrasts in the sky as well as in the landscape. "Its an ode to light and observation. It turns looking into a new experience". The movie will be presented not only in the Netherlands, but in several other European countries. Oh, well, every Dutch knows that a north-northwesterly flow, 3/8 - 5/8 towering cumuli, (some distant showers no problem), will bring you that very bright spells; and skies reflecting on every piece of water: lakes, rivers, ditches, canals -- the Netherlands is full of that. Its THE scenery of taking pictures. Welcome autumn :-). http://www.hollandslicht.nl/www/html/eng/film/home.htm Wijke SE Flevopolder The Netherlands |
