According to the UV sensor on my Davis VP2+, the UV Index reached 10.0
today. This is a whole unit above anything I have recorded before. I'm a little bit sceptical about these figures but the sensor seems to be OK and when I borrowed a hand-held UV monitor recently, they agreed fine. The weather station at St Martin's on the Isles of Scilly recorded 9.7 today and they did have more cloud. I only record 9.0 as a maximum once or twice a year so to record 10.0 was quite a shock! The UV levels this year seem to be far higher than last year, why I do not know. -- Nick Gardner Otter Valley, Devon 20 m amsl http://www.ottervalley.co.uk |
