The summer so far here has been beautiful and besides the odd rainy hour
or two, it has been dominated by settled, dry and sunny days. Maybe a little bit too dry at times but how the garden and allotment have responded. Chillies, runners, toms and cucumbers have been coming thick and fast since early July. If the forecast is anything to go by, I'd say that this summer is turning into the best since (or even better than) 2005 & 2006. A few stats (1st June - 19th July): Mean minimum = 11.8C Mean maximum = 22.1C Rain = 70.6 mm Sunshine = 415 hours -- Nick Gardner Otter Valley, Devon 20 m amsl http://www.ottervalley.co.uk |
