A cloudy morning with just a few sunny intervals led into a fine
afternoon with very high humidity. Maxmimum = 23.4C (DP = 20.3C at the same time) Sunshine = 4.2 hours Rainfall = 3.2 mm (fell in the early hours) Monthly rainfall total now at 19.0 mm. With the relative humidity now frequently above 90% I'm on blight alert. This year's tomato crop has been the best ever so I think I might have to do the unthinkable and spray some CuSO4 solution on them tomorrow. This summer seems to be dominated by high DPs, probably helped by the warm SSTs at the moment. The drought has well and truly broken yet the grass and Devonshire hills still remain a bit on the brown side. -- Nick Gardner Otter Valley, Devon 20 m amsl http://www.ottervalley.co.uk |
