I don't know Richard but I suspect a lot warmer - I believe we get
these sort of temps in October from time to time.
In fact just discovered in my "Wrong Kind of Snow" book that on the
19th Sept 1926 it was it was 32.2C in Camden! In 1952 -3C (assumed night
minimum) in East Anglia - a bit cooler than tonight! I thought I felt
bit chilly in my cot that night ;-)

The October record is 29.9C at Gravesend.
