With a day still to go Wanstead will record its driest September since 2012.. Not quite the picture Radio 4 is currently painting but then that doesn't fit the policy of saying everything is 'extreme' these days. And why this obsession with 1910? That is not 'when records began'. It is a disservice to G J Symons et al who were keeping perfectly good records long before that
