Yesterday the front held off until late afternoon, here it is approaching.

I recorded an SST temperature just off Penzance (2-3' below the surface ) of 19C this morning. A record for October. Even out at the Porthleven & Penzance buoys the temperature is near 18C, http://www.channelcoast.org/data_man...e_data/charts/ a good 3C above the early October norm, indeed above the norm for early July. Quite unprecedented in my experience, and I've be going a few years.

With temperatures in west Cornwall widely around 20C, even on cliff tops, gentle sea breezes set in. There was some 3 way convergence just south of Camborne Redruth (SE off Falmouth Bay, SW off Mounts Bay, NW off the north coast.) Currently still occuring http://www.xcweather.co.uk/ . This led to some dark threatening cloud and a small almost stationary shower over a few unfortunate people.
