There was no misleading snipping. OK, so on 22 October (and night of 22-23 October, I presume) there will be gales in the NW, strong winds elsewhere, heavy rain, calm spells in transient ridges (plural) of high pressure and night frosts (air or ground?) Thanks for the clarification.

Stephen.

You are welcome. However you appear to have missed an answer to all my questions - again.

We're in for some pretty disturbed weather at 10 days.

**At T+240, on Wednesday 22nd Nov, the UK will be experiencing weather with an Atlantic source. Gales are likely in the NW and spells of heavy rain and strong winds are possible in other areas. These will interspersed with calmer spells, with night frosts, only in transient ridges of high pressure. Typical zonal weather.**

-------------------------------------------------
The first bit is ok as it says "on Wednesday... " but I think what is
confusing people is the plurality of the second part. As this part must
refer to the subsquent weather (i.e frosts, transient ridges etc)typical
of zonal weather. It may have been better to word the forecast as a
"spell of zonal weather commencing October 22nd", or "continued zonal
spell at Oct 22nd" or "at least a week of zonal weather from Oct 22nd".

Or I could - and will - leave it exactly as it is, as the UK will be experiencing zonal weather on the 22nd, as every single reader of the forecast understands *perfectly*.

PS The clue was in the thread title. *))

Well no, actually the clue was for you to give the response:-
"Thanks Dave. You may have a point. I can see why people might be
confused. After I said the forecast for zonality was for the exact day
of T+240 I should have added that the little description of what
zonality is like was just to indicate to those that didn't know what to
expect in the days around the time of my forecast"
I probably was expecting a bit too much ;-)

If someone expects me to say what they want me to say, I can *assure* you that you are expecting too much. They would be of anyone.

You see, I could say that I expected you to reply "Yes, Paul, I did understand perfectly what you were forecasting but I thought I'd be picky for effect". As I expected, you didn't. *))

Give up Dave, banging your head against the wall is a more satisfactory experience.
Just remember that Dawlish is never wrong. Myself and others have learnt this lesson and are now obsessed and not critical.
