Default Penzance - Normal November Monsoon - A few notable statistics

November is the wettest month of the year in Penzance, due to both the prevalence of Atlantic weather, and the relatively very warm sea (which often results in potent danglers in a NW-N.)

This month is no exception. 142.9mm so far.

A few statistics to demonstrate just how wet November is here.

Since 1991 there have been 20 months with 200mm of rain. Of these 7 have occurred in November, (30% of Novembers, and this year could well up the percentage) 5 in December, leaving just 8 occurrences for the other 10 months.

The 6 wettest months
1 296.0mm November 2002
2 276.5mm December 1999
3 270.4mm November 2009
4 256.4mm January 2014
5 247.9mm December 2002
6. 244.9mm November 1997

November has been the wettest month of the year 9 times during the period 1991-2013. 2nd comes December with 4 occurrences.

The driest November (2004) saw 58.8mm, way more than the lowest figure for any other month.

Don't come to Cornwall in November unless you like rain!

'Potent danglers'? Sounds positively rude!
