Default After a quiet Autumn, at last . . . .

.. . the Atlantic is winding itself up.

Take a look at http://magicseaweed.com/UK-Ireland-MSW-Surf-Charts/1/ and go forward 5 or 6 days to next Tues/Weds. A large area of the N Atlantic with a swell of around 50' or so. A way off yet, but a photo opportunity beckons.

More normal track than last year. when it repeatedly powered into Cornwall. Even so a very powerful 20' 17sec swell forecast for Sennen. Probably blown out, just hope for a lull at some point to see the waves break properly.

Affects the north coast to Woolocombe, but the swell direction means little travels up the channel east of the Lizard.

It certainly is looking a bit wild for next week!

Strong WNW'lies off Liverpool Bay with pretty cold air could result in some
rather entertaining weather here :-)

One of the ensemble clusters out to next week has a really good, bracingly strong NWly:

Aa I said, that could be very entertaining here if the temperature is low
enough. We tend to get a stream of continuous showers off Liverpool Bay with
the wind in that direction.

Still looking much the same, if anything the sea conditions look even stormier.

Noon Wednesday http://magicseaweed.com/UK-Ireland-MSW-Surf-Charts/1/ - only 4 days away now.

Also a long period http://magicseaweed.com/UK-Ireland-M...hartType=PERPW

It's not often you see charts like that.

A bit scary for the west coast of Ireland, great surfing away from the wind in Portugal (and sheltered spots in Cornwall?)

As Norman & others have said, it'll be interesting up north over land as well.

Yes, that cool NW flow that I talked about a couple of days ago, appears to be wanting to establish itself.

Not great for here if you want something wintry falling, though I'll take the abundant sunshine you get with this set-up
