On the south coast, in Penzance maximum gust so far just 44mph. Also nothing notable as far as sea conditions go.
Different on the north coast. There's been a 68kt gust at St Ives, and the big swell has arrived. The significant wave height (just to be clear!) peaked at 25' out at Sevenstones. The very gusty F8 combined with the big swell is now giving very poor sea conditions. Now approaching low tide, you wouldn't think so by where the sea is, http://magicseaweed.com/Live-Sennen-Webcam/65/ the 'town' images make the substantial breakwater look small in these conditions. The big ground sea is resulting in loads of salt spray in the air, right across west Cornwall Graham Penzance |
