WORLD TROPICAL WEATHER HIGHLIGHTS AND OUTLOOK-
NORTHERN INDIAN OCEAN (INCLUDING BAY OF BENGAL, ARABIAN SEA)-
Tropical cyclone development is not expected within 24 hours.
SOUTHERN INDIAN OCEAN (INCLUDING WEST AUSTRALIA, MADAGASCAR)-
Tropical Cyclone Abaimba, with 35 mph (56 kph) winds, is centered 340 miles west northwest of Diego
Garcia near 5.8S/68.0E, moving east southeast at 7 mph (11 kph). Abaimba will turn south over water,
strengthening during the next 24 hours.
WESTERN NORTH PACIFIC (INCLUDING THE SOUTH CHINA SEA)-
Tropical cyclone development is not expected within 24 hours.
CENTRAL NORTH PACIFIC (INCLUDING THE HAWAIIAN ISLANDS)-
Tropical cyclone development is not expected within 24 hours.
EASTERN NORTH PACIFIC (INCLUDING THE MEXICAN PACIFIC COAST)-
Tropical Storm Nora, with 40 mph (64 kph) winds, is centered 520 miles south of Cabo San Lucas near
15.7N/109.2W, moving west at 4 mph (6 kph). Nora will turn west northwest over water, strengthening
during the next 24 hours.
WESTERN SOUTH PACIFIC (INCLUDING THE CORAL SEA)-
Tropical cyclone development is not expected within 24 hours.
EASTERN SOUTH PACIFIC-
Tropical cyclone development is not expected within 24 hours.
ATLANTIC (INCLUDING CARIBBEAN SEA, GULF OF MEXICO)-
Hurricane Kate, with 85 mph (137 kph) winds, is centered 1220 miles east southeast of Bermuda near
30.0N/44.1W, moving west southwest at 9 mph (14 kph). Kate will turn west over water, strengthening
during the next 24 hours.
Tropical Storm Larry, with 50 mph (80 kph) winds, is centered 300 miles east southeast of Tampico,
Mexico, near 21.0N/93.5W, stationary. Larry will remain stationary over water with little change in
strength during the next 24 hours.
