Default Polar Maritime/Arctic Maritime hybrid

Was it Polar maritime or Arctic Maritime air today?
Half and half if you ask me.
Lots and lots of showers here. More than usual for a polar maritime , but really not that cold.
max 6.8C
min 3.2C
rain to 1800Z 6.5 mm.

A good amount of instability which goes with cold air over relatively warm sea, suggesting more Polar maritime than Arctic Maritime. I think the Arctic Maritime digs in over the weekend with less in the way of showers.

Len, did you walk the length of the Nile recently?

Update - I've just been told it was Lev Wood! Is he a relative?

I would describe it as returning arctic maritime.
Certainly Arctic like up here this afternoon with the heavy snow and
temperatures near freezing.

No relative of mine Nick.
Although he might be as he is a good looking bloke.

He's a good deal younger than me.
The most I can walk these days is down the lane to the pub.
:-(
