After a max of 8.5C yesterday, the wind dropped away to give a starlight frosty night with a minimum of -0.8C, just shy of the coldest night of the winter.
Currently cloudless with a light NE wind, temperature already back to 5.2C @ 09:00. Graham Penzance |

It was bitter! What a wonderfully diverse climate we have in these islands. -- Norman Lynagh Tideswell, Derbyshire 303m a.s.l. http://peakdistrictweather.org |

Still & cloudless here again this morning http://mounthaven.co.uk/webcam/ after a minimum of 1.7C. A bit different to what's forecast, nasty black clouds all day http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/public/w...27?tab=fiveDay Graham Penzance |

Ken Copley Teesdale Well Ken, it would be great if it could last a bit longer! 9C @ 09:00 at your location in February, and under cloudless skies, must be very unusual? Just got back home (11:50) now 10.8C, 1st day 10C this month. Still basically cloudless, literally 1 or 2 very small Cu over the hills to the NW. Completely calm as well. The cloud several miles off the north coast seems to be dispersing if anything. No sign of cloud off Land's End http://www.landsendweather.info/ A startling difference to this time last year. It must also be very rare for Penzance to be colder than Copley, as it seems that it was around 8 or 9am. Is there a whacking great inversion that Copley is above? -- I'm not paid to implement the recognition of irony. (Taken, with the author's permission, from a LiveJournal post) |

Although Great Dun Fell didn't show anything unusual today. It was warm up there over the weekend:- http://www.weathercast.co.uk/world-w...bsid/3227.html Highest temperatures now are certainly over this side of the Pennines 11.4C high here but some of the lower sites in the Vales of Durham and York have overtaken us now. They were much colder than us at the 09Z ob. Every dog has its day (;0) Ken |

Still sunny, the thin and broken Sc sheet still hasn't made it across from the north coast. It's made it a fair bit chillier this afternoon over at Camborne though, where it's now down to near 7C.
