Hi, All,

The sunshine continues, another 9hr yesterday makes 24hr in the past 3
days.
The constant radiation through the very clear sky means little snow melt
in the Lead Mill area of the village.
The gusty winds and big temperature fluctuations of yesterday seem to
have gone for now, although the Dun Fell station 20 miles west continues
to show the temperature variation.

MetO site 09Z10th, W 4KT, 10 miles, few clouds(Ci), -1C/-2C, 1032
steady, snow patches (10%)

24hr to 09Z Max 11.4C min -2.3C grass -10.1C rain nil, sun 9th 9.0hr
Lead Mill Max 8.1C min -4.1C snow 5cm (90%)

We had very little snow Ken, but it's remarkable how patches have
stubbornly refused to thaw in the bottom of the valley here. Not much, but
even our pavement is still treacherous in places.

Just been for yet another walk on Dartmoor and I'm gobsmacked as to how much
snow is left. Still 90% cover above 500 metres and quite deep in places with
many patches right down to 350 metres asl. That is after two days of over
10C. But we have had no rain and the snow has gone through numerous
freeze/thaw cycles in the past two weeks!

Arctic Devon eh, Britain's snow covered secret world, known only to you.

Bet you were out there tramping the snowy wastes, clad only in shorts, tee
shirt and flip flops what a man. Only you could do it, just as well you're
there to lead those walkers.
