Hi, David, -4.0C here at MetO site, a little higher at -3.9C Lead Mill site(surprisingly, not unusual under calm conditions) Grass down to -10.2C Topcliffe -5C, which is what your -4.6C would round off to. Yes I saw the forecast last night and the "dreaded towns and cities" in the NE were expected to be 2 or 3C but "lower in the countryside". Guess you are both country bumpkins then? LOL :-) Never know what my forecast min is to be on the TV as I am in the country but high up. I can, however, look at the site forecast for Haytor on the MetO site which is usually pretty good. I get a good overview out to 10 days, constantly changing and intriguing, alongside XC weather (GFS) for Copley and WeatherPro, Meteo-Group(ECMWF I think)for Barnard Castle (closest site). Using the three alongside the MetO mountain forecast gives me a really good idea for 5 days and a reasonable one up to 10 days. I look at the charts occasionally to see the broader picture especially if the apps throw up something interesting. Ken Copley Teesdale |

Along A64, then onto B1249 - Staxton Bank was a great hill climb, the old WW11 Chain Home radar masts were still intact in those days, a really imposing sight! Then we would race up to the crossroads by Octon (near Eddsfield I think) and then turn for home just before the road goes down to Langtoft. 25 miles, could almost do the hour in my prime, bliss (:0) Ken |
