Severe cyclone Pam is moving south just east of the Vanuatu islands, and is
seen here by the polar orbiting satellite metopA just before midday GMT. Minimum cloud top temperature is -91C at this time. There seems to be a rather late widespread burst of cyclonic activity in the SW Pacific/Australia region at the moment after a fairly quiet season. I note too that there is also a cyclonic development just north of the equator already. http://www.woksat.info/etcxc12/tn_xc...-a-cyc-Pam.jpg http://www.woksat.info/etcxc12/tn_xc...-b-cyc-Pam.jpg -- Bernard Burton Wokingham Berkshire.
