After yesterday's grey skies and patchy light rain and drizzle, today
was a massive improvement in every respect. The maximum temperature for yesterday only reached 10.3C making it one of the coldest May days I've recorded. Today the temperature reached 18.2C and with a DP of over 15C, it felt quite humid with the air being wonderfully 'soft' and warm. A nice contrast to the cold, dry winds of late. UV was quite high too reaching 6.7 this afternoon. Minimum = 10.3C Maximun = 18.2C Sun = 3.3 hours. 12.8 mm of rain fell yesterday. -- Nick Gardner Otter Valley, Devon 20 m amsl http://www.ottervalley.co.uk |

A much more pleasant feel to the day than recently, no need to protect the potatoes against ground frost with fleece is a definite plus point. I din't expect to have to dodge a thunderstorm yesterday afternoon when out on the bike, a bus shelter at Hertfordshire University saved the day, 10 minutes of heavy rain follwed by more sunshine. Yeuch (again - Cardiff had awful weather over the weekend, similar to this, but wetter and cooler! |
