Default HEATWAVE WARNINGS PATHETIC, ABSOLUTELY PATHETIC

Well folks my subsidiary office is based in a still active old Railway Station in South London and all day today there were at least 30 Heatwave announcements. This AGW Elf & Safety sh&t is going beyond all reason. I mean , we haven't even had the hot spell yet and here is the pathetic H&S brownie points mob telling passenger not to travel if they feel feint and seel medical help!!!!!

The only medical help worth seeking is psychiatrist with all this ******** taking place. Do you know, I downloaded last Thursday a 79 page Legionella risk assessment. A risk of what??????? Becoming rather poorly for a few days . I looked up the stats: 300 cases 2010 with about 30 deaths. No where this around half were contracted abroad !!!! So why are we ^^&*ing testing here at enormous expense when the problem is elsewhere. Of course the testing only is demanded of businesses. care homes and employers where threats of legal action can cost companies tens of thousands. meanwhile everyone of us here that use this NG I doubt have ever had recourse to chlorinate their tank every year or test every month has Hyde Housing and other housing association do.

The western world has gone lefty, driven stark raving mad but only on dangers that may be held accountable to businesses or tax funded institutions. If we compare around thirty deaths of legionella in 2010 with all being elderly folk that have severe respiratory issues or on chemo compared to 600 odd murders in that same year of people that do not have any underlying illnesses whatsoever then we have to ask why the left never report or push for action on a far greater loss of life than legionella's ???

Anyhow I was looking through some 'risk reports' last week and one was about risk assessing shopping FFS!!!!!!

I blame the buy two get one free regime. It all starts off well

It's true that some of it has lost touch with reality although
Legionaires' is one I would try and avoid and a lot of the testing has
of course brought the number of cases down. I suppose some of the
"lefties" also think it's crazy that care workers earns £12k a year and
don't get a bonus for doing their job well and have to pay for their own
petrol while City boys and bankers can earn 10-50 times that and then
get a bonus for f***ing up. You are right, the world's gone mad.

Dave quick reply as I'm on AL tomorrow and have to confess to having a of couple G&T's.

"brought the number of cases down" Down from what ?

However care workers and low pay . I'm in full agreement with you although I'm not sure what that has to do with my post which was about OTT health and safety?

You know care workers in community care for learning disabilities after 30-40 basic hours per week take home after tax, NI mortgage , council tax and fares around a quarter on the benefits income that disabled people take.

I did send you the actual figures a couple of months back when my email to you bounced back, but I'm willing to give you the factual breakdown here if you want.

Dave a man in your super fit condition would see nothing worse than the symptoms of a cold if somehow you were infected via water droplets into your bronchial tract by the legionella bacteria

What's AGW got to do with it? It would take a pretty lurid imagination to connect that with an excess of H & S, which there certainly is. Don't spoil a valid point.
This nonsense is not the sole property of the poltical left but is an increasing characteristic of the entire nation, one of infantilised anxiety-ridden ******s who actually rather enjoy it. I'm not advocating a return to the cavalier attitudes of Edwardian times (before anyone starts shouting) but the present attitude is unhealthy and points to a loss of bottle.

These days everything is driven by the requirement to demonstrate
countermeasures as a defence against ambulance chasing lawyers whose
fees are typically 3-10x what they obtain for the victim.

Have you been in an accident that wasn't your fault? Ring grasping
lawyers for you now and claim your reward for being stupid.

The problem is that the general public are on the whole pretty stupid
and will drink themselves legless then fall asleep in the sun without
sunscreen and end up frazzled to bright pink and flaking. I describe
here the typical young sun seeking Brit on holiday on the continent.

On the rare occasions it happens in the UK you get the same and
unfortunately also a few people drowned due to thermal shock jumping
into cold deep water. Much as a hate to quote the Mail:

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...eaches-14.html

In the desert regions of the US there are fines for travelling without
the right amount of bottled water in your car. It seems people are more
afraid of the police fining them than they are of dying by dehydration.

And you believe the kind of people that will get absolutely sozzled and fry as they sleep in the sun or drown as they jump of a bridge will heed any warnings ?

This is the problem, society is now geared to catering for the profoundly ignorant and thick and we all have to jump through the same stupid hoops as them.

No. But you have to at least try and save their lives.

Round here there are a couple of dangerous tight bends and they drop the
indicated speed limit by 10mph each time there is a fatality. The bend
is good for 50+. We will have to go round them in reverse soon.

http://www.gazettelive.co.uk/news/lo...-house-3702602

This spectacular one isn't even a particularly tight bend - it is just
at the end of a long straight. Would you want to live in that house?

This is the problem, society is now geared to catering for the profoundly ignorant

For once Lawrence I agree with you. And it is the Express and Mail that
cater for the the wilfully ignorant (if they read anything at all).

The temperatures predicted today do pose an increased risk of mortality
for the elderly due to dehydration. One thing I didn't know was that
according to the medic on the Today programme tepid water is better than
cold water for cooling someone down who already has heatstroke.
