I've had that one for a while. Still brings back memories though!

I was amazed at how many I knew - and that some of them I knew well and
didn't know they had been on weather ships!

I always fancied a posting to Weather Ships, but after watching the last episode of the "Atlantic: The Wildest Ocean On Earth" and see how those trawlers were being tossed about, I think I probably made the right decision to remain on Terra Firma!

I agree. As to what's beneath my feet, the Firma it is, the less the
Terra.

I did three years on weather ships in the late sixties to early seventies, on the Weather Surveyor. It's perhaps selective memory but I don't remember being overly perturbed by bad weather. It had to be really bad to curtail activities when the captain wouldn't allow anyone on deck so no sonde launching.
