Hi, All,
The summer ground frost break has been a little shorter than normal this year. Autumn begins on 1st August in Copley as far as frosts are concerned, so the last of the spring was on 26th July and the first of the autumn, -0.9C, was this morning after a near-miss with +0.3C yesterday.

24hr ob 09Z-09Z 12/8/2015
MetO site Max 17.0C min 6.8C grass -0.9C rain nil, sun 11th 1.5hr
Lead Mill site Max 17.2C min 5.8C

Hope you enjoyed your two weeks of summer then, though I expect that
was wet hence lack of frosts!

Hi, Dave,
Not too bad but cool. On the plus side, England and of course Yorkshire have been dominant, on the minus side the Bishops lost 0-8 to Darlington in a "friendly" (:0(

====================

Your frosty reports are making me dream of winter already, the snow, the
horizontal rain, frequent mist and fog in crappy SW'lies, cold days and cold
nights, stratwarm, toys and prams, ah .... must wake up, a long way off yet,
but getting closer :-)
