Default Penzance - Rain Totals

30.0mm for the event here. Wetter over parts of the Lizard and Falmouth/Truro area.

Around 5mm fell up until 14:00 yesterday. The bulk of the remainder between 14:00 & 22:00. Not much since midnight in on the tip of Cornwall (E.g 1.5mm at Land's End 1mm at St Ives.)

However this 30mm, together with the 23mm which fell on 9th, and the 64.7mm which fell 23rd-25th July, means that 1 thing we no longer need is rain!

An even more magnificent total of 0.0mm here during a very nice, warm
day.

Possibly, that was our Summer.

Well, I'm running in my mended replacement hip and it made a nice change
not to have to 'wrap up warm' for my morning walk. Weather back to
normal now though.

Yes possibly, not bad :-)
Been raining at Haytor now solidly for the past 31 hours and still it comes
down at 3-4 mm/h.
Nothing unusual though as, like you, we are used to it, but I know we have
had a far drier summer than you!

This is the wettest year to the end of August since we moved here in
August 2002 with 1471.4mm so far this year. However, I'm quite pleased
that I'm no longer fit enough to cut the grass!

Here are previous year totals to the end of August:-

YEAR mm
2003 982.6
2004 1160.8
2005 1144.4
2006 924.0
2007 1231.4
2008 1340.2
2009 1366.6
2010 833.8
2011 1366.6
2012 1192.4
2013 907.8
2014 1432.2
2015 1471.4 so far

Plotting them, there's a slight upward trend although I suspect that the
sample is too small to make any meaningful conclusions.
