MetO forecast rain from 3pm, it started at 1pm. Even from the "classic"
direction of weather fronts they can't get it right.

I've a feeling the MetO couldn't get the weather forecast correct, from
whatever the weather came.

2hrs out??
That's being a bit picky, isn't it?

Actually if you look at the radar there were two distinct bands of rain earlier. A lighter one which seemed to arrive in Wolverhampton at 1pm (as you say)and a heavier one arriving at 3pm. Perhaps the initial lighter band wasn't anticipated.

Why does the MetO produce a website that then tries to guess your location and give ludicrous hourly target forecasts over five days!!! They've invited a ton of 'pickiness' down upon their own heads.

It's probably part of the gobbledygook speak we've had the last twenty odd years with terms like 'mission statement' and all that old sh(te. It because of this drive to create faux local website forecasts that give the impression they're that accurate. I mean look what happened to poor old Al Gore when he tried that stunt.

Shortly after UKMO congratulated Al Gore

"Nobel Peace Prize

12 October 2007

Following the announcement that both Al Gore and the IPCC have been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize the Met Office congratulates both parties.

John Mitchell, Director of Climate Science at the Met Office said "The Met Office would like to congratulate the IPCC and Al Gore on this award. The Met Office Hadley Centre is a key contributor of climate science to IPCC, and I would personally like to congratulate those scientists of the Met Office Hadley Centre who have contributed as authors to IPCC Assessment Reports over the years."

And then shortly after that in the same year Al Gore the 'Gorical', made his own Nobel Prize endorsed fantasy forecast.

Just goes to show, forecasting is a difficult business. I mean I just checked the choices of a Sydenham forecast on the UKMO website and they offered 0.9 miles from the Crystal Palace Sports Centre and it shows dry when in fact it's raining- see what I mean?
