I love it, but someone will not be amused

(As a parallel, that picture of the head of P.Charles superimposed on
Linford Christie's body did not amuse the "Palace".
But of course, I didn't elect Charlie nor pay my taxes to support the
Palace, so who cares what they think?)

Reminds me of an occasion when I was at Wyton in the early 80's. The
Assistant at the time got bored/mischievous or whatever and transcribed the
forecasters trend verbatim. The forecaster being a rather blunt speaking
Yorkshire man called out the trend as NO F**@*!* SIG.

Shame, as the Assistant had one of the most brilliant mathematical minds I
have ever met and I believe he left the office shortly after!

I'd love to know what havoc it caused with the VOLMET computer.

Must have happened 25 or more years ago. During his nightshift a younger
colleague added the following sentence to the traffic advice following
the news and weather forecast: 'The road from Harlingen to Vlieland is
under water'. The radio news reader seemed to have broadcast this with
doubt in his voice.
A pity that not many Dutch(wo)men heard this, myself included.
Harlingen lies to the south of the Dutch Wadden Shallows, Vlieland to the
North and there is definitively no road. There were no complaints, and
as the bosses were well asleep when this happened, there was no negative
follow-up for colleage Kees.
