Default GEM met model gone south ?

I hope so , 00:00 run today, it threw a middle ranking LOW for the UK in
what I'd thought was a 5 met-model consitentency, sustained UK wide High
for the unusually high Summer spring tide period of 29 Aug to 2 Sep. The
06:00 run has still not come through. (I monitor the met models for
serious LOWs that affect sea levels and then local flooding)

Default GEM met model gone south ?

The 0600 run was jumped over, to the 1200 run.
Having difficulty in understanding the surge in the English Channel this
afternoon. It was around low tide, so no flood problem , but if it had
occured in a weeks time at high tide, then there would have been some
marine flooding , Southampton.
The residual at Lymington at 14:50 BST
http://www.channelcoast.org/data_man...=&disp_option=
,the excess over predicted, was 0.44m
The NTSLF big computer model got it right

Surge started in a minor way , in the west channel but what caused the
enhancement? , "not inverse barometer effect".
Was it due to a long fetch of WSW wind or the ripple in the isobars
along the channel and transition from warm front to cold and the wind
backing to SE in the IoW area
