I regularlarly watch this guys daily forecast and quite enjoy his
content albeit rather long winded,but todays offering started with a rant against amateur (non registered whatever that is ) forecasters. Whilst admitting he is also an amateur,he then attacks them for being just that 'amateurs' Am I being picky here or does he have a case ? http://www.weatherweb.net/wxwebtv2.php RonB |

I've exchanged emails with Simon a number of times over the years - he is always approachable and only too willing to help an 'amateur' like myself become a better amateur. I think he fell into forecasting almost by accident when he had to fill in for a forecast slot when the rota'd person was ill. He then continued and completed a masters in meteorology at Birmingham - so he knows what he's talking about. At the RMetS student conference this year he made mention that any meteorologist in the industry should register with the RMet scheme - which is what I am in the process of doing...
